Scene & Action is a photo and video studio in Sacramento.
These are the things I keep coming back to, shoot after shoot.
I want color to feel alive. Real life is vibrant, so my editing leans into that instead of pulling it out. Skin stays warm. Greens stay green. The blue of a dress in the afternoon sun still looks that way hours later when you pull it up on your phone.
Photos should be something your eyes get to enjoy, not something that arrives drained and grey and calls it a mood.
Nobody shows up knowing what to do with their hands, and that is completely normal. So I guide you through it. Where to put your weight, when to breathe, which way to turn, the tag sticking out of your collar.
None of that is about making you into somebody else. It is about clearing the small awkward things out of the way. When I hand your photos back, I want the most confident version of you looking out of them.
Life goes by so fast. A photograph holds a beautiful moment open a few seconds longer, and then it just keeps holding it. Years later you can look at one and land right back there, in that light, with those people, and bask in it for a second before the day carries on.
That is really what I am making. Not files, not a gallery link. A way back.
Two people can ask for the same thing and need something completely different. Say they both want headshots. One is going up for a promotion and needs to look like someone you would hand a budget to. The other is starting something of her own and needs to look like someone with taste and nerve.
Same words on the inquiry form. The light, the wardrobe, the crop, and the whole feel of the day should not match. So I ask why before I ask when.
I shoot most jobs myself. When a day needs two angles at once, a second location, or aerial coverage, I bring in a second shooter and a drone operator I have worked with for a while. You will always know in advance who is showing up.
Before a wedding or a quince we build the timeline together. That part is free, and it is the biggest thing separating a day that feels rushed from one that does not.
I work in English and Spanish. Not translated afterward, but on the day, with your family, in the moment. For a quinceañera where you want the abuelos relaxed in front of the camera, that matters more than people expect.

Sacramento is home, and most of the work happens here, in Roseville, Folsom, and El Dorado Hills.
I travel often to San Francisco and Monterey, and further when a project earns it. Passport stays current.
They showed remarkable attention to detail in every shot, going above and beyond to capture the key moments that made our day special. What impressed me the most was their active engagement. They were genuinely invested in preserving the emotion and significance of each moment.
My birthday photos came out amazing, and it is not because good equipment was used. Gabby is really invested in making sure you look good. She will fix the tag that is sticking out, remind you to pull your shoulders back, and instruct you with such kindness that makes this so much fun. I do not know when I will be getting married, but she will be my photographer for sure.
She made me feel like a superstar behind the camera. I love my photos.
